Home Staging a Kitchen -- Outdated to Updated

To update the kitchen or not to update the kitchen when selling,
that is the question.

The answer is: it depends on how outdated the kitchen is.

Here's how to determine if it's outdated.
Does it feel like a place you want to cook?
Does it look happy and bright to be in?
Is it warm, efficient, clean, organized, neutral.
Maybe fun?

This galley kitchen needed refreshing.
The genuine oak cabinets, although quality, needed to compliment
and contrast the hardwood flooring.

The counter tops were powdery blue laminate and in need of updating.

The solid wood cabinets in here are fantastic!

They were painted in Behr's Battleship Gray, satin finish.
The walls in the kitchen are Sea Salt by Sherwin Williams.

The black dishwasher below was sold on Craigslist,
and a stainless one bought off Craigslist for continuity,

Beveled-edged 3" by 6"subway tile HERE with dark gray grout became a back-splash,
and timeless granite HERE replaced the old laminate.
Notice the new pendant light hanging over the sink?

It was quite fun designing the new kitchen!

The ROI (Return on Investment) was worth it!
The house was taken out of the 1970's and into 2015.

This home sold in one day at the Open House
(which only happens 1% of the time!),
the new buyer fell in love with the kitchen.

I love my job!
