College Daughters' Shared Bedroom Reveal

Both our daughters left this fall to go to separate colleges and I have been
working to make it an organized, cozy space for them when they come home on their breaks.
If we happen to have company while they are at school,
this space is then used as a guest room.

Out of all the stuffed animals they had as children, I chose to keep these two bears
because they resembled each other, plus, teddy bears are just cute.

Window by window, I've been replacing the white plantation blinds that came
with this house when we bought it with bamboo Roman shades.
As I replace the shades, I also restore (they weren't horrible, just needed glazing and some paint)
each window as I go.

The silhouettes were elementary Mother's Day gifts and I cherish them.
I found the lovely matching vintage matelasse bedspreads at a yard sale of all places!

The antique  headboards were $15 for the pair at Goodwill.

We live in Greenville, SC, and one of the fun things our downtown has
are nine different bronze mice that are hidden all along our Main Street.
They are hidden in surprising locations throughout our downtown
as a scavenger hunt. This mouse below is a replica of one of the mice.
They are sold downtown at the Mast General Store
I chose this mouse because he looked like he was praying!

I am a seamstress, and my mother decided that I should be the caretaker
of my great-grandmother's antique Domestic Treadle Sewing Machine!
The sewing machine itself is under the wooden box on top, and it still works!!

The chest of drawers belonged to my grandmother, who I write about HERE.

Yes, I sewed the slipcover for this loveseat!

This framed art was a gift and is entitled: Starry Night Greenville.

I found this darling HELLO banner at Notes from a Cottage Industry HERE.
You can print one, too!

I kept the teeny three foot wide by sixteen inch deep closet simple.

For guests, I've left a little basket on the floor which contains
some towels, tissues, and info about our Upstate.

I sure do miss my daughters when they aren't here.
I look in this room a few times a day and smile remembering the sisters' laughter here.
I always look forward to having them home.
