God took the strength of a mountain,
the majesty of a tree, the warmth of a summer sun,
the calm of a quiet sea,
(Miss S, 1 year old)
(Miss S, 2 years old, trying on daddy's blazer.)
the power of the eagle's flight,
the joy of a morning in spring,
(Miss A, 5 months and Miss S, 4 years old.)
(Piano lesson. Miss S, 6 years old.)
(Goofballs. Miss A, 6 years old. Miss S, 10 years old.)
the faith of a mustard seed,
the patience of eternity,
the depth of a family need.
(Tybee Island, Georgia. Miss A, 12 years old . On Mark, that is a seaweed wig.)
(Boogying at a Disco party in our basement cafe', Miss A, 16. That is a real wig.)
Then God combined these qualities,
when there was nothing more to add,
He knew His masterpiece was complete,
and so,
He called it...
Dad.
