Oh, Yard Sales, How do I Love Thee? (2)

Let me count the ways:

1. Trio of amber glass pedestal candle holders
(these are large and will be beautiful on the mantle in Autumn)
&
2. Triple wick candle.

3. Granite cutting board with tiny feet (a platform to make a coffee station).

4. Vintage Ironstone electric mantle clock (for the guest room)
&
5. Electric makeup mirror (for Miss A's 16th birthday-hope she doesn't see this post).

6. (I needed a) hand electric mixer,
7. Coffee scoop (our other one was plastic--this is an upgrade),
8. Jar (for dried cranberries) to match the others in the kitchen,
9. Pyrex liquid measuring cup.

10.- 12. White spray paint (need I say more?),
13. Car wash stuff,
14. Power strip.

15. - 17. Books!

18.- 20. Movies!

21.- 24. Music Books and Sheet music for Miss S.

25.- 26. Ipod (I have been borrowing Miss A's to workout with
--teens have different music tastes than adults)
and "Designer" Tissues for Miss S (of course).

27. (My favorite find) a 2' tall scrolly card, jewelry, mug, ornament holder thingy.
This is going in the cafe', I think.

28. Inside door rack for Miss S' dorm room bath.

(Home Depot Price: $79.98.)

All of these finds came from ONLY 2 yard sales--

Total spent on #1 - #29: $36.00.

Shopping at the Downtown Farmer's Market afterward: $14.00

Breakfast at Greenfield's Bagel Shop after that: $9.00

Date Morning with my beefcake: PRICELESS.

  13. How fun you lucky girl! You have some great finds! I went to 3 garage sales on Saturday and came home with NOTHING... so disappointing... such is the life of a garage sale-ing chick. :)

  14. You did great, Leslie! Love those amber colored candle holders! You're right, they will look fantastic come Fall. Great find on the 3-wick candle that looks brand new in the wrapper!

  15. Thou shall not covet thy neighbor's yard sale finds...

There, I'm better now. Sometimes I have to give myself a little scolding...

These are great!!! I can't believe that you even found an ipod at a yard sale. Seriously, around here the most high tech thing you can expect is an 8 track player.

But I keep hoping that it is going to improve. Our GW is basically the same (she says with a sigh.)

  16. Great finds and great prices too! Garage sales have been a bit slow here lately. We usually have more in the spring. But I keep checking just in case ;)

  17. Girl! Where are you shopping? All we have are old people and their castoffs. No good yard sales in my area. I'm coming out your way! Lisa~

  18. Wow! What amazing finds! How did you score an Ipod, even? And it all averaged out to about a dollar and change for each? You are one talented shopper.

  23. Yes we must all ask for forgiveness for lusting in our hearts! Ha.. what a great haul, I am very envious for I have to work on weekends and miss all the great yard sales. Just found your blog and look forward to seeing the coffee station.

  24. Wow. Just when I thought I had some good finds from the weekend. My oh my, you did good. I would especially love to find an ipod like that. Mine is so old the battery won't charge. It works fine, connected to a power source. But that makes it tricky for when I want to listen while I go for a jog. You found a boat load of good stuff!

  26. Leslie,

Great finds! Do you rent a big box truck when you go thrifting and yard 'saling'? I especially like the ironstone mantel clock.

  27. Fabulicious finds Leslie! I love everything...especially the Hampton Bay table. I would have tripped four times trying to get to that lovely.
College Diva also has the same over the door rack for her dorm bathroom. Same. exact. one. also purchased at a yard sale for $1.00!

I also have the same mixer as the one you bought...mine was wedding gift but still! And those amber pedestal candle holders? Uh huh I have the in Red. Uncanny how similar our tastes are.

Thanks for sharing, I will be showing off a few things I found in the last two weekends later tonight.

    Have a blessed weekend.
